The Right God over the Wrong Man

“I’d rather have the right God than the wrong man.”
— Christen Rapske

Worry

Philippians 4:6-7. Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.

If we worry less, giving our trust to The Lord we will experience His blessings.

Make friends with what you are
Give your heart then change your mind
You’re allowed to do it
Cause God knows it’s been done to you
And somehow you got through it
Alive in the age of worry
Rage in the age of worry
Sing out in the age of worry
And sing Worry, why should I care?
-“Age of Worry”  John Mayer

Matthew 7:25-27, 34 are also great verses on worry!

Worship

I grew up in a Catholic Church in North Carolina, which was very different compared to the church I go to now.  What many call “contemporary” worship is so different than the worship, or hymns that I grew up with.  When I first went to church at Elevation, with a love band and where people raised their hands in praise, I was slightly bewildered.  For a while I did not raise my hands or get very into the worship, simply because it wasn’t at my comfort level.  I wondered if I was truly praising God…I wasn’t.  If I couldn’t demonstrate my love and thankfulness to Jesus in church, how could I possibly do it outside of church.
Worship is so important, no matter what season you are experiencing.  No matter your past, everyone has something to be thankful for and praise The Lord!

Psalm 96:4- for The Lord is great and greatly to be praised.

“The secret to joy is to keep seeking God where we doubt He is.”

The Right Person

“True security, happiness, joy, peace, and love isn’t found in finding the right person; it’s found in being the right person.” Pastor Steven Furtick

Being the right person is so important.  Jesus is the one we should seek a relationship with..for a relationship with…for with Him we can be the right person!  We cannot find the right person when we are not the right person (with Jesus within us).  Being at the right place in our life is so important, in order to receive the blessings God wants for us.

Known God

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” Corrie Ten Boom

Prayer and faith are action!  Your future is part of a plan so much bigger than you can imagine!  You are a child of God who wants to bless and love you!
Although my future seems confusing and unknown God knows my path.  As long as I desire Jesus, I will experience the Lord’s Grace and power beyond my imagination!  I have nothing to fear, the maker of the universe is with me!

Hope and patience

Romans 12:12- let your hope make you glad.  Be patient in the time of trouble and never stop praying.

Hope and patience in the Lord’s plan for me has always been difficult.  In times of trouble we often turn from The Lord, wondering why God is letting us struggle.
My grandma always says that The Lord has three ways of answering our prayers:
1) yes
2) not yet
3) I have something better in mind

The Lord has a funny way of giving us the gifts we want, he knows when we are ready to receive His blessings. We must continue to try to be hopeful, positive, patient, and prayerful towards Him who knows all!

A Marriage of Three

A Marriage of Three

I love the idea of ‘a marriage for three.’ I feel it embodies what the Lord wanted when he created marriage.

1 Corinthians 13:7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance.

The right relationship won’t distract you from God. It will bring you closer to Him.

Praying for your Boyfriend

I find myself quite frequently praying for my boyfriend. I try to pray for all of my friends and family, especially the ones who I know are going through a difficult season of their life. Praying for loved ones is extremely important for them and you, the Bible tells us to pray about everything and worry about nothing. Praying for your boyfriend, fiancé, or husband is incredibly important.

I find myself often praying for these four things when it comes to praying for Will, my boyfriend…
1) Pray for his spiritual walk that he always goes towards The Lord with a happy spirit.
2) Pray for him to constantly grow as a leader. The leader of our relationship, a leader at work, a leader at school, and a leader in our church.
3) Pray for obedience to The Lord, that his ears may always be open to hearing what God wants him to do.
4) Pray for strength against temptations and earthly sins.

Firm grip on you

Isiah 41:13– Because I, your God, have a firm grip on you and I’m not letting go. I’m telling you, ‘don’t panic’ I’m right here to help you.

Often we forget the Lord is here to help us, this is because for years we think God is watching our every move like a strict parent, ready to discipline His disobedient child. But our God shows unending grace and has a firm grip on your personally as well as your path with Him. Jesus died so we could live, we need to remember He is here to bless us and to support us through hard times, not to spank when we stray from Him.

I have always known that God loves me, even when I was little I knew God and loved God. As I have grown older I have come to realize that God has a true plan for me and that He has a firm grip on my life. I have grown to feel so comforted and blessed that God is always next to me to help me out with anything I need.
